Sotheby's International Realty aimed to reach prospects andclients with a highly polished and performance based app that integrated a strong mobile marketing strategy tied with local and social strategies. They worked with Smarter Agent, the only mobile platform-agnostic company that creates engaging, measurable and scalable mobile apps for brands and3rd party agencies to reach consumers. With real estate being a local, regional, national and international-based industry, Smarter Agent's solution created a mobile marketing tool that is effective at the national and international level. These apps can also be used by individual broker-owner networks who own more than 500 worldwide offices of Sotheby's International Realty. The Smarter Agent mobile marketing platform allows for both the creation and distribution of native apps with various integrated marketing tools such as app store distribution as well as QR code and text functions that can be used in digital and print advertising.
A total of 95 percent of all Sotheby's brokers participated in this program. As a franchisor, using mobile showed incredible value to their base of owner-brokers franchisees and created a marketing network effect.
More than 50,000 unique users downloaded the apps over the first 6 months of the program, using the apps on average 4 times a month, and staying on the apps for 18 minutes on average each session with 75 percent user retention.
This generated, over the first six months of the program, 300 calls to Sotheby's Realtors for properties valued over $250 million in value in aggregate with several closings. Commission income to date far exceeds the campaign investment showing mobile can move high value goods to consumers over the age of 40.
Sotheby's added International Listings globally to this program in June 2011, showing the smart investment in a mobile app campaign and marketing platform that can be upgraded over time.
